A heat wave prevailed across the country on Tuesday, with temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius  in Eastern Central Greece and Thessaly, while exceeding 43 ° C in many other areas. According to the National Observatory / Meteo.gr, the temperature surpassed 37 ° C at 311 of the 550 automatic weather stations, 40 ° C at 102 stations, and 42 ° C at 34 stations. The average maximum temperature (37.1 ° C) was 1.5 ° C higher than on Monday (35.6 ° C).
