Marinakis: There is no fiscal space to give subsidies to farmers at this time

Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis, in an interview with MEGA TV on Wednesday on the protests by farmers, said that "all these mobilisations, are obviously a message to all, and to us, to do even more. I believe that we have done a lot, though always within the existing fiscal margins. We make it clear that there is no fiscal space at this time to give farmers something in the form of a subsidy," he underlined.
"I can see a great dignity in the farmers' protests, which were carried out in an orderly fashion and with specific demands," he added.
