Minister of Education, Religions and Sports Kyriakos Pierrakakis paid a visit on Tuesday to the HIPER (High Power Experimental Research Facility), at the Hellenic Mediterranean University's Institute of Plasma Physics & Lasers.

Pierrakakis toured the facilities and was briefed on the upcoming initiatives for the facility's further enhancement. In a social media post, Pierrakakis described HIPER as a "great research center of excellence."

The center is at the village of Tria Monastiria, near Rethymnon in northern Crete.
