The Destination Management and Marketing Organization (DMMO) for Attica Region was presented on Thursday to institutional and professional agencies of tourism by Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias.
"We are proud because our Metropolitan Region is the first region in the country that acquires such an organization," Hardalias said, noting that "Attica ought to open new pathways in tourism as well."
Attending and addressing the presentation on Attica as a place of sustainable tourism, on its development, and on the targets of the new mechanism were Deputy Tourism Minister Anna Karamanli, Greek National Tourism Organization President Angela Gerekou, regional representatives, and ruling New Democracy spokesman Nikos Romanos. Journalist Haris Digridakis was the moderator.
DMMO is implementing a comprehensive plan in the framework of the NSRF program "Attica 2021-2027" that is based on four fundamental strategic axes:
1. Resilient and updated infrastructure
2. Promoting location identity and managing tourist flows through a sustainable tourism strategy throughout the year
3. Boosting local economy and quality of life in a way that adds high value for the entire society, and
4. Promoting innovation and digital transformation through the use of a comprehensive system of destination management and the Observatory of Sustainable Tourism Development
