Passenger traffic in the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos grew 8.8 pct in March this year compared with the same month in 2018, totaling 1.65 million passengers. In the three-month period from January to March, passenger traffic totalled 4.37 million passengers, an increase of 9.4 pct from the corresponding period in 2018, with domestic traffic rising 8.8 pct and international traffic rising 9.7 pct.
More specifically, international passengers in March 2019 totaled 1.13 million, up 9.1 pct from 2018, while domestic passengers totaled 516,900 up 7.9 pct over the same period.
The number of flights at the Athens airport totalled 40,203 in the first quarter, up 7.5 pct from 2018. Domestic flights rose 14.1 pct and international flights rose 3.3 pct.
