Kountoura: Draft law on "theme tourism" addresses and resolves chronic problems

The draft law on "theme tourism" addresses chronic problems it resolves while strengthening the tourism industry and creating a friendly investment framework, Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura said during a discussion in the Committee on Production and Commerce of the Parliament.

Kountoura stressed that the new legislative framework is being brought up to date, and niche tourism is promoted such as wellness and spa tourism.

She also spoke of Greece's dynamic presence in the global tourist market, as the country is now a top tourist destination.

"In our new development plan, we have set our strategic priorities for the development of high-quality tourism with a sustainable, fair and balanced solution. It is a milestone that opens up new horizons and supports local and regional investment," Kountoura stressed.
