Dimera Group to focus on logistics, food production and hotel sectors in Greece

Dimera Group, owned by businessman Ivan Savvidis, will focus its investment activities on other large projects in Greece, in the sectors of logistics, food production and hotels, following an agreement to sell Donskoy Tabak to Japan Tobacco (JTI), Artur Davidian, chairman of SEKAP's board said in a statement.

Davidian said that negotiations for the acquisition of Donskoy Tabak lasted more than a year and noted it "was a well designed business move". He noted that under the agreement, SEKAP will be sold to JTI, in which the Japanese state holds an equity stake. He added that JTI has a successful presence and big experience in the Greek tobacco market, a fact creating new prospects and hope not only for SEKAP but for all the citizens in Xanthi and the wider area. "The board of Dimera Group decided to focus its investment activity in Greece on other large projects, in the sectors of logistics, food production and hotels," he noted.

Belterra Investments Ltd, a member of Dimera Group, has a 20 pct equity stake in the consortium that bought 67 pct of Thessaloniki Port Authority. It has also purchased the Macedonia Palace hotel in Thessaloniki, PAOK Football Club and around 70 pct of shares in Souroti SA, a Greek water bottler, along with a series of historic buildings in Thessaloniki.
