ATHEX Group on Wednesday announced that a board meeting appointed George Hadjinicolaou -non-executive chairman in Piraeus Bank- as its new non-executive member to replace Iakovos Georganas who left the group after serving as chairman of the board for a period of 15 years.

I. Georganas led the group in the last 15 years and achieved the full privatisation of the Hellenic Stock Exchange, safeguarding during all these years a stable course in a constantly increasing competitive European environment, ATHEX Group said in an announcement.

George Hadjinicolaou has a successful career combining the banking sector and the international capital market.

ΑΤΗΕΧ is currently managed by a Board of Directors consisting of thirteen (13) members elected by secret ballot by the General Meeting of Shareholders. The composition of the new board is:
