France Inter highlights Southern Europe’s economic progress, led by Greece

The radio station France Inter, in a programme dedicated to the French economy, also referred to the progress achieved in the national economies of the countries of Southern Europe, and especially Greece.
A journalist for L'EXPRESS magazine Béatrice Mathieu, in her analysis of developments in the Greek economy, referred extensively to the efforts made by the Greek Minister of Labour Niki Kerameus, to repatriate the scientists who have left the country. She stressed that Kerameus is visiting European capitals to promote Greece, sending the same message - that Greece has changed.
Mathieu said Kerameus' goal is to convince the approximately 600,000 Greeks who have left the country since 2010 due to the violent economic crisis to return. As she noted, these are mainly young graduates - doctors, nurses, engineers, and IT technicians - who were forced to leave because of the unemployment rate, which at the height of the crisis in 2013, reached 27.5% and almost 58% for those under 25.
"To lure her compatriots living abroad, the minister is offering a tax incentive: a 50% reduction in income tax for seven years for those who have left the country for more than five years. I point this out to you because our leaders have indeed been referring to Greece a lot lately," she noted.
