IOBE: Greek economy to grow 2.2% in 2025, 2.4% in 2026

The Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research (IOBE) reaffirmed its assessment of a +2.2% growth for the Greek economy in 2025, in its quarterly report on the Greek economy presented on Thursday.
For 2026, IOBE predicted a +2.4% growth.

The research institution expected consumer consumption to retain its growth dynamic, although at a milder rate, as private consumption is expected to slow down significantly (+1%) despite the notably increae of public consumption (+1.2%).

Fixed investments (+9.0%) are expected to benefit from the acceleration of implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Fund and the lower cost of money, but under conditions and threats from abroad. The external deficit is expected to remain, perhaps even widen, mainly becuase of the extension of global uncertainty, IOBE said.
