The leadership of the infrastructure and transport ministry had extended meetings with the Spanish Deputy Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, José Antonio Santano Clavero on Wednesday.
The discussions between Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Dimas, Deputy Transport Minister Konstantinos Kyranakis and the Spanish deputy minister focused on the infrastructure and transport framework in the two countries, the possibility of potential future collaboration on specific projects, as well as coordination on critical issues for the 2024-2029 legislative period in the European Union.
It was also confirmed that Greece and Spain are aligned in the field of air transport at both European and international forums. The Spanish side expressed an interest in making investments in infrastructure and transport projects in Greece, while also discussing the possibility of expanding existing investments by Spanish companies.
Following the meetings, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE) and the Spanish railways infrastructure administrator Adif for cooperation and the exchange of expertise and best practices between the two infrastructure managers.
