Greek Foreign Ministry condemns attacks at Sweida

The Greek Foreign Affairs Ministry strongly condemned the attacks of religious sites in Sweida, Syria, on Wednesday that resulted in heavy casualties.
In a statement on X platform, the ministry said:
"We strongly condemn all attacks against civilians and religious sites in Sweida, which resulted in heavy casualties. Greece requests that Syria's transitional authorities contribute effectively to de-escalation, ensure accountability for the crimes committed, and create a security environment for all people.
"In this regard, we took note of an announcement made by Syria's transitional authorities on a ceasefire agreement reached in Sweida.
"Greece reiterates the need for an inclusive transition. National reconciliation and tackling sectarian violence are key to a united and prosperous Syria. Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity must go hand in hand with the fundamental right of all Syrians, irrespective of their religious and ethnic background, to live in peace and without fear."
