Energy Community meeting at Zappeion to include EU Commissioner Jorgensen

The informal ministerial council of the Energy Community will celebrate its 20th anniversary at Zappeion Hall on Thursday.
An international organization of EU and other countries, it was set up to create an integrated regional energy market. The Energy Community Treaty was signed in Athens in October 2005 and entered into force in July 2006.
In the context of the event, Environment & Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou and Deputy Minister Nikos Tsafos will welcome European Commissioner for Energy & Housing Dan Jørgensen, Director of Secretariat of the Energy Community Artur Lorkowski, and the energy & environment ministers of Energy Community member states.
The meeting at Zappeion, which will include speeches, will also be hailed by Danish Ambassador to Greece and Cyprus Fabricius Andersen, as representative of the presidency of the European Union.
