Androulakis: Greeks 'do not deserve a weak and politically blackmailed prime minister'

PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Nikos Androulakis launched a direct attack on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Parliament on Wednesday, accusing him of calling for an investigation into decades of EU fund distributions in Greece by OPEKEPE agency in order "to write off the offenses" of former ministers Makis Voridis and Lefteris Avgenakis.

"Stop underestimating the intelligence of the Greek people," Androulakis said addressing the prime minister, whom he charged with trying to cover up for ruling New Democracy (ND) ministers and high-level officials out of "weakness and being blackmailed".

PASOK-KINAL's leader also said his party was not afraid of an investigation of OPEKEPE from its founding, as proposed by ND. "You are afraid of the preliminary investigative committee, we are not afraid of anything," he said.

"Greek citizens do not deserve a weak and politically blackmailed prime minister who has become adept at cover-ups and uses the government majority to turn Parliament into the pool of Siloam," Androulakis said.
