Skertsos: We are on the right track – The Greek economy shows a strong recovery after the crisis

However much some may be trying to paint a different picture of the economy with questionable analyses, in actual fact "things are simple," Minister of State Akis Skertsos pointed out in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

More specifically, the Minister of State pointed out that:

"The reduction of unemployment and public debt constitutes progress.

"The increase in employment is progress.

"Increasing investments, manufacturing, exports, deposits, wages, per capita consumption is progress.

"Reducing poverty is progress."

All of the above, he emphasised, was based on real data from Eurostat and the Bank of Greece.

"Are we in the position we would like to be? Not yet. But we are on the right track. We know how difficult imported inflation or housing prices make everyday life. The obligations and needs of each household are many and growing, and we are trying to support the incomes of the most vulnerable, from the dividend of economic growth," Skertsos said and added: "However, only the comparison of the real data - and only those - tells the whole truth about the distance we have covered from 2019 until today."
