Gerapetritis from Libya: There are no problems that cannot be solved through dialogue

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis was in Tripoli, Libya, on Tuesday and met with his counterpart Taher Al-Baour.
During the meeting between the two ministers, as reported by public broadcaster ERT, the Greek foreign minister stated:
"It is a great honour to be in Tripoli today. On behalf of the Greek government and the Greek people, I convey to you a message of peace, friendship and good neighbourliness. Libya is a natural neighbour for Greece. It is a long-standing ally of culture and history, and our goal is to continue together the path towards broader regional security and peace. We believe that there are no problems that cannot be solved through dialogue and that there is much more that unites us, such as geography and history, than what divides us. For this reason, I look forward to our cooperation and hope that this visit of mine will be only the beginning of a good and constructive relationship between our two countries and governments."
Welcoming Gerapetritis, Taher Al-Baour said that the two peoples of the Mediterranean are connected by historical cultural relations. He added, according to ERT, that the relations between Greece and Libya have always been warm. There are always problems that affect relations between the two states, but these problems should not constitute an obstacle, he noted and added that the two countries are in the same region, in one of the most beautiful regions in the world...
He underlined that these factors force the politicians to work on their relations and expressed the hope that this trip will mark the beginning of further enhancing relations between the two countries.
