Greece to submit sixth request for 2.1-billion-euro tranche

Greece is set to submit its sixth request for a tranche of 2.1 billion euros from the Recovery Fund's subsidy component in three days, Alternate Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis said on Tuesday during a press conference.

In particular, as clarified by the responsible coordinator of the Recovery Fund, Orestis Kavalakis, on July 18 the revised plan for Greece is expected to be approved by Ecofin, with the aim of fully utilising the resources, and then the request for the next tranche will be submitted.

Papathanasis spoke of funds totaling 31.5 billion euros that will be allocated until the end of 2026. He also pointed out that the Public Investment Programme is the highest in the last 15 years, while the Recovery Fund exceeded the absorption target by 3% in the first six months and overall the programme covered the target by 98%.

Regarding the "My Home II" programme, the alternate minister said that 50% has been achieved. That is, an amount of 1 billion euros out of a total of 2 billion euros has been "locked" in more than 8,000 citizen applications that have received approval. The average income is 20,600 euros, the average age is 38 years and the average commercial value is 149,000 euros.
