Mitsotakis: Patients can help us improve hospital services through feedback

"From today, the voice of the citizen becomes stronger with regard to issues related to his health," said Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who earlier participated in a meeting at the Maximos Mansion, in which the leadership of the Ministry of Health presented the new Digital Tool for Assessing the Patient Experience in National Health System Hospitals, available to citizens from today.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized: "It is 11:00 am, in a few minutes from now the first SMS evaluations of our hospital services will be sent to those who were discharged a few days ago.
When we had discussed with the minister a few months ago the way in which we will evaluate the services provided by the National Health System, we jointly agreed that we must, first and foremost, ask the users of the system themselves in detail.
And that is exactly what we are doing with this very well-organized questionnaire, which, completely anonymously and with all the security controls regarding personal data, will now be sent to everyone who is discharged from the hospitals of the National Health System, with the exception of psychiatric, pediatric and oncology hospitals. These will follow later.
Our goal, as stated in the message, is for the patients themselves to help us become better. Because, obviously, we cannot have a complete picture of the situation in a hospital. We get the picture from the official data, but also from what the hospital administration often conveys to us. It is very important to listen to the patients themselves: what we are doing well, what we are not doing well and how we can improve."
