Laurence Auer: Greece is one of the pillars of the internal market, a historic ally of France in Europe

Today, July 14, is the national holiday of France, "a holiday that sets as its primary goal the promotion of national unity," as the French ambassador to Greece, Laurence Auer, explained in her interview with ANA-MPA. And, this year, "in Athens, we celebrate, together with the partners of Greek-French cooperation, our joint actions in the fields of politics, defense, Francophonie and university partnerships," she said.
However, today is also the occasion not only to look back and remember the past and how we came to establish the national holiday of France, but also to record the course, the evolution and the current situation of Greek-French relations on a political, economic, but also cultural and educational level.
Auer stated that she feels "very proud" to promote "a Greek-French relationship, supporting a multitude of practical actions to facilitate, diversify and deepen cooperation", in the last two years, which she has been at the helm of French diplomacy in Greece.
She also referred to the level of Greek-French relations in the field of defense, but also in the field of culture and, as she said, "I am very satisfied with the quality of Greek-French relations."
