Mitsotakis: The outstanding universal value of the Minoan civilization is internationally recognized

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis referred to the recognition of the universal value of the Minoan civilization by UNESCO in a post on social networks.
"With the decision of the 47th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, the outstanding universal value of the Minoan civilization is internationally recognized. "Thus, the abduction of Europa by Zeus, as well as Ariadne's thread, return from ancient Greek mythology to contemporary life, conveying its timeless messages, with the most important lesson being humanity's enduring struggle for freedom and progress," he added.
The prime minister pointed out that this development, which pleases every Greek man and woman, is the culmination of a long-standing and persistent collective effort, in which it is worth remembering that the late Marianna Vardinoyannis also participated passionately. This is a vindication that honors her memory," he emphasized.
The Prime Minister also congratulated the Ministry of Culture and our permanent delegation to UNESCO, as well as the region of Crete and all the bodies that collaborated in preparing the candidacy file.
