Star Alliance CEO Theo Panagiotoulias noted that this ongoing recognition is of particular importance to all Star Alliance executives, as it reflects the trust shown by millions of passengers worldwide. "It is the result of our member airlines working together seamlessly, joining forces to deliver smooth, seamless, and high-quality travel experiences on a daily basis." The Star Alliance Lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle also won the award as the World's Best Airline Alliance Lounge.

Star Alliance won the top award for the 13th time in the history of this category of the award, which was established in 2005.
