Greek parties condemned the discovery of an explosive device at the home of well-known journalist Yiannis Pretenteris in New Psychiko on Thursday.

Ruling New Democracy (ND) unequivocally condemned the attack and said it expected that all parties would condemn it as well. "We unequivocally condemn the attack at the house of journalist Yiannis Pretenteris and expect its self-evident and mandatory condemnation by all parties," the ND press office said. "Our democracy cannot be intimidated, freedom of the press cannot be terrorized," it added.

Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL) expressed its "categorical condemnation for the terrorist attempt against journalist Yiannis Pretenteris" in a statement, adding, "Violence has not place in democracy."

In condemning the attack, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) said, "Such actions are used to disorient, to incriminate political disagreement and criticism, and at the end to cultivate a climate of terrorism for the unimpeded implementation of antipopular policy."
