Mitsotakis at Ukraine Recovery Conference: 'We are here also as defenders of values'

"We are here today not only as friends of Ukraine but also as defenders of values,” Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasised on Thursday, speaking at the Ukraine Recovery Conference taking place in Rome. He also noted that “ resilience, when reinforced by solidarity, can achieve a great deal.”
“ Greece stands firmly with the people of Ukraine, and our message has been clear and consistent since the start of this horrific war. Aggression can never be rewarded, and we must increase our collective pressure on Russia as regards security while working toward enduring peace,” Mitsotakis said, congratulating Italy for hosting such an important conference.
“ We need better coordination and certainly greater commitment - both in Europe and globally. Ukraine, alongside its strategic reconstruction, also needs something that reflects the depth of the sacrifices the Ukrainian people have made. Business, human capital, regional recovery, and European integration are interconnected pillars of success,” Mitsotakis added.
