PM Mitsotakis to represent Greece at Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will represent Greece at the Ukraine Recovery Conference taking place in Rome on Thursday and Friday, 10-11 July. He will be joining 100 country delegations, 40 international organisations and more than 2,000 businesses attending. Mitsotakis is being accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister Haris Theoharis.
A number of European heads of state and government, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will be at the conference, while others have arranged to join the conference remotely - among them French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the rest of the 'Coalition of the Willing' convening in London. The main item of discussion will be support for the Ukrainian military in order to preserve Ukraine's defensive capability.
The main aim of the Rome conference is, also, to continue the mobilisation of governments, the private sector, international organisations and civil society in supporting Kiyv and rebuilding Ukraine once the war is over.
Alongside the political meetings, there will also be meetings where businesses involved in the infrastructure, energy, agriculture, health and construction sectors will draw up joint cooperation plans. Companies in Ukraine and dozens of other countries will come into contact with Ukraine's local and central government to plan the country's recovery and return to normality.
