Greece assists North Macedonia to battle wildfire in Nikoliḱ

Greece is assisting with ground and air assets to extinguish the fire in the village of Nikoliḱ in the municipality of Dojran, North Macedonia, near the Greek border.
According to the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Greece is assisting by sending two Canadair CL-415 firefighting aircraft and two fire engines with eight firefighters.

The deployment of ground and air forces is being carried out following a request from the Crisis Management Centre of the Republic of North Macedonia to the Joint Coordination Centre for Operations and Crisis Management. The response of the Greek government to the bilateral request of North Macedonia for support was immediate.
