Low-brush fire breaks out in Oropos area, East Attica leads to evacuation

An evacuation message through the emergency number 112 was sent to residents of the Asprochori village in the Oropos area, to head to the Athens-Lamia National Road after a low-brush fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Fire Department, it started around 17:55, close to the village. 

There are 60 firefighters with 3 rough terrain teams, 20 fire trucks, volunteers, 13 airplanes and 6 helicopters included in the fight to put it out. The local government has also provided large earthworks machinery and water trucks.
