Greece sends two Canadair firefighting aircraft to assist Albania

Greece is providing assistance to Albania by sending two Canadair CL-415 firefighting aircraft to help extinguish a large forest fire that has broken out in the Municipality of Finiq in the neighbouring country.

According to an announcement on Sunday, the deployment of the two aircraft is being carried out through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), which was activated following a request from the Albanian government. The two planes took off from Thessaloniki on Sunday at 17:41.
