Greek Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis met in Benghazi on Sunday with Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar and members of his family in the context of their institutional role.

As Gerapetritis mentioned to national broadcaster ERT, they discussed issues related to migration, maritime zones, and Greek-Libyan bilateral relations.

"Libya and Greece are connected through common historical traditions and roots," the Greek FM underlined. "We are also connected through our commitment to International Law, as well as"the issue related to a Mediterranean of peace and prosperity of peoples.

"We shall continue in this context our undisturbed relation and we hope that in the near future we shall also have tangible resuls over the progress of our relations," he added.
