Hatzidakis meets Chinese PM Li Qiang in Rhodes island

Deputy Minister Kostis Hatzidakis met on Friday in Rhodes Island with the Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, who will stay for a few hours in Greece on his way to Brazil for the BRICS Summit.

According to a statement from the Deputy Presidency of the Government, the meeting took place at the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights during Li Qiang's visit to Greece. The discussion focused on the progress made in bilateral relations since 2006 and the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Li Qiang referred to various aspects of Greek-Chinese relations, focusing on Cosco's investment in the port of Piraeus, tourism, and cultural exchanges. Hatzidakis noted the need to expand Greek exports to China.

"Greece and China, both among the oldest civilisations, have successfully developed a stable cooperative relationship." This partnership will continue to progress while adhering to Greece's commitments to the EU and the Atlantic Alliance. "Of particular interest to Greece is the strengthening of cooperation aimed at promoting Greek exports to China, alongside the enhancement of cultural exchanges and tourism," Hatzidakis emphasised.
