UN announces informal five-party meeting on Cyprus issue in New York

The Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric, during the press briefing, announced the informal five-party meeting on the Cyprus issue, which will take place at the UN headquarters in New York.

Dujarric noted that following the informal expanded meeting on Cyprus held in Geneva on 17-18 March, the Secretary-General will convene on 16 and 17 July the leaders of the Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, as well as representatives of the guarantor powers-Greece, Turkey, and the United Kingdom-for another informal meeting on the Cyprus issue. He also stressed that the meeting will provide an opportunity to continue the dialogue and exchange views on the progress made since March.
