PASOK criticises government response to Euronext offer for Athens bourse

Main opposition PASOK-KINAL on Wednesday criticised the government's triumphant response to Euronext's offer for the Athens Stock Exchange, noting in an announcement that "the company's initial assessment of 400 million euros is less than the fine the country must pay for the OPEKEPE scandal."
In an announcement, the party said the government had "without a trace of self-criticism regarding its policies on capital market issues, rushed to endorse Euronext's proposal for buying out the Athens Exchange before the relevant negotiations had even begun and all the repercussions for the Greek stock exchange ecosystem had been assessed."
