Government Council on National Security concludes meeting on Wednesday

The Government Council on National Security (KYSEA) met on Wednesday, in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, for a briefing and assessment of the latest developments in the region and to discuss migration.
With respect to migration, the meeting for Libyan authorities to cooperate was underlined, so that a new migration route from Eastern Libya to Crete does not become firmly established. The European aspects of the issue were also stressed, ahead of the upcoming visits to Libya by Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and European Commissioner for Interior Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner.
Apart from the above, the meeting also discussed armament procurements for the armed forces.
