ECONOMIST IMPACT- FM Gerapetritis: Euro-Atlantic relations key to international security architecture

Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, in a discussion with the President of the UN General Assembly, Analena Baerbock, on Tuesday at the Economist conference, stressed that times are full of challenges and the situation is getting worse because they are not limited to one country or one region.

He also noted that aggression is not a regional issue, citing the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine as examples. As for food security, climate, and AI, he noted that they cause a domino effect.

Gerapetritis stressed that the EU should stand up and say “ we are here to talk” and stressed that it is important for international security to have Euro-Atlantic relations.

“ We need a strong welfare state in the EU, as this is the basic narrative of European culture,” Gerapetritis said and noted that politicians need to be open and honest with society and battle against misinformation not only in Greece but worldwide.
