Marinakis: The government's policies are already bearing fruit

"The government's mission is very clear and results are expected very quickly. We will investigate immediately and exhaustively, with all the means available to the state, the cases of illegal payment of aid, in order to make it possible to make an attribution of all undue payments to their recipients and always in accordance with applicable EU and national legislation," government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis said in a press briefing on Tuesday.
He added that the government's policies are already bearing fruit. "This is not the first ring that has been dismantled during the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Typical examples of rings that have been dismantled, in our time, include those for illegal prescriptions, customs, urban planning, tax offices, prisons, Municipal Police, operations against fuel smuggling, etc."
He also referred to the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' announcements on a legislative regulation that provides urban planning security in settlements with fewer than 2,000 residents.
"With the new regulation, which will be submitted to Parliament within the day, the existing boundaries in more than nine out of 10 small settlements are essentially maintained, protecting both the property rights of the owners and the demographic perspective of the region," he stressed.
