The Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni attended an event at Athens International Airport (AIA) marking the launch of direct Sichuan Airlines flights connecting Athens, Greece with Chengdu, China, via Istanbul.

“ More than just a new route, today’s initiative is a bridge of culture and economy between East and West. Sichuan Airlines’ decision to invest in this connection reflects its confidence in Greece as a dynamic, safe, and authentic tourist destination,” Kefalogianni noted.

The event was also attended by Chairman of the Board of Directors of Athens International Airport Michail Kefalogiannis, CEO of AIA and President of Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) Ioannis Paraschis; representatives of the Embassy of China, Sichuan Airlines executives, and stakeholders from the tourism and business sectors.
