The Minister of Rural Development and Food Κostas Tsiaras, during the handover ceremony between the new and the outgoing Deputy Minister, stressed that the mandate of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is to fully clarify the Payment and Control Agency for Guidance and Guarantee Community Aid (OPEKEPE) issue and recover all funds that were granted illegally.

Tsiaras welcomed the new Deputy Minister Ioannis Andrianos, noting that he will face major challenges in the primary sector, such as climate change, irrigation water shortages, and zoonoses, both at the European and national levels.

He also thanked the outgoing Deputy Minister Dionysios Stamenitis, highlighting his decisive contribution to the revision of the Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organisation (ELGA) regulation and stressing that “ he was at the forefront of this effort.”
