Sailing ban in Attica keeps ferries docked on Sunday

A sailing ban imposed in Attica due to high winds remained in force on Sunday afternoon, with many ferries forbidden from departing from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio as wind speeds reached 7-8 Beaufort.
The "Blue Star Patmos", which was scheduled to depart at 15:00 for the Dodecanese islands, will depart at 23:59, while the "Blue Star 1" for the Cyclades will depart at 22:00, instead of the planned departure time of 17:30. The "Ariadne" bound for Chios and Mytilene will postpone its departure from 20:00 to 23:59.
Ferry trips in the Saronic Gulf as taking place as normal but only with the approval of the captains, while some ferry lines have cancelled journeys.
At the port of Rafina, only ferry journeys to Marmari and Agia Marina-Nea Styra are taking place, with no ferries departing for the Cyclades.
There is also a full sailing ban at the port of Lavrio.
Passengers are advised to contact port authorities or shipping firms for information on changes or cancellations.
