A wildfire broke out on Friday in in Lefkochoma, Laconia.

According to the Fire Department, the fire broke out around 11:50 and 54 firefighters were mobilised to extinguish it, with two pedestrian units, 19 vehicles, two aircraft and two helicopters. Assistance is being provided by local authority water trucks.

A message was sent via the emergency number 112 to the residents to be on alert and follow the authorities' instructions
