SYRIZA Progressive Alliance leader Socratis Famellos, during a meeting with a delegation of the Hellenic Association of the Employees of Local Government Organisations (POE OTA), stressed that the party's priority is to strengthen the municipalities and support the employees by ensuring the public character of their functions.
“ There is a serious problem of privatisation of the functions of local government and devaluation of both staff and resources by the Mitsotakis government,” Famelos said. He also argued against the abolition of tenure in the public sector, in favour of real evaluation and the restoration of the 13th and 14th salaries.
