"We fought and stopped those who attempted to profiteer," Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos said on Tuesday in an interview with ANT1 TV.

"Every reasonable person wishes, hopes and expects that President Trump's announcement will result in a definitive development for the end of the war in the Middle East. We highlighted the need to avoid escalation because every war leads to loss of life and negative impacts on the economies of all countries," he added.

"We are constantly monitoring developments, we are conducting repeated inspections to ensure that there is no illegal speculation," the minister emphasised and pointed out that the law on the profit ceiling based on the profit rate in December 2021 is in force until June 30.
