Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis met on Monday in Brussels with the Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Šuica as well as officials from the office of Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. He also had a telephone conversation with Commissioner for Internal Affairs & Migration Magnus Brunner.
The discussions of Gerapetritis focused on the alarming geopolitical realities in the Middle East and North Africa. 
Gerapetritis underlined that Greece, as a frontline state, emphasizes the need to coordinate EU efforts in order to address irregular migration.
