Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis spoke by phone with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem following the deadly terrorist attack on a church in Damascus. 
Gerapetritis and Patriarch Theophilοs focused on the security of Christian communities in the Middle East and exchanged views on the latest developments and the risks to regional stability. For his part, Gerapetritis reaffirmed Greece's support for the work of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, as well as its willingness to cooperate  for the benefit of Christian populations and peace in the region.
