Tourism Min Kefalogianni meets with Palestinian counterpart Al-Hayek

Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni met on Monday with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Palestine Hani Al-Hayek.
Al-Hayek was accompanied by Palestinian Ambassador Yussef Dorkhom and representatives of the Palestinian tourism sector.
Hani Al-Hayek spoke about the impact of the situation in the region and the impact on tourism, which is an important source of revenue for the Palestinian economy. He also said that under normal circumstances there is a tourist flow mainly related to pilgrimage tourism to the Holy Land and that about 65% of Palestinian Christians are employed in the tourism sector.
According to a statement, Al-Hayek stressed that Palestine can learn from the successful model of Greek tourism to recover, when conditions allow, and to provide high-quality services.
Kefalogianni pointed out that the ministry's strategy includes the development of religious and pilgrimage tourism. In this context, Kefalogianni and Al-Hayek agreed on future cooperation, with a focus on transferring tourism know-how.
