Over 4 million tourists visited Greece in the period Jan-Apr 2025

More than 4.1 million tourists visited Greece during the January-April period, marking an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period in 2024. Tourist arrivals from the United States rose by approximately 27%.
According to data from the Bank of Greece, air travel arrivals increased by 10.8%, while land border crossings decreased by 3.9%.
During the review period: Travel from EU-27 countries reached 2.04 million visitors, showing a decline of 5.4% compared to the same period in 2024, travel from non-EU countries increased by 19.7%, totaling 2 million visitors and more than 4.1 million tourists visited Greece during the January-April period, marking an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period in 2024. As for non-EU countries: Arrivals from the United Kingdom increased by 41.5%, reaching 294.6 thousand visitors. Arrivals from the United States grew by 26.9%, totaling 339.5 thousand visitors. Visitors from Russia rose slightly to 2.8 thousand.
The increase in tourism led to a 10.6% rise in tourism revenues compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 2.1 billion euros. This growth was primarily driven by a 26.0% increase in revenues from non-EU countries, which amounted to 1 billion euros, while revenues from EU-27 countries declined by 1.8%, totaling 1.025 billion euros. More specifically: revenues from eurozone countries were 861.5 million euros, down 5.7%; revenues from EU-27 countries outside the eurozone increased by 25.4%, reaching 164.1 million euros; revenues from Germany increased by 0.8%, amounting to 297.1 million euros; revenues from France dropped by 25.0% to 110.2 million euros; revenues from Italy also fell by 6.6%, to 110.3 million euros.
From non-EU countries, UK revenues rose by 23.4% to 167.8 million euros, and US revenues surged by 36.8% to 325.5 million euros. Finally, revenues from Russia increased to 2.5 million euros.
