Crews on Patras-Italy ferries continue strike

The Panhellenic Union of Merchant Shipping Seamen (PENEN) is continuing its rolling strikes on the ferries serving Patras-Igoumenitsa-Italy, with the most recent one begun at 06:00 on Sunday and ending at 06:00 to Monday 06:00, they said on Sunday.
It is the seventh consecutive day of the strike. PENEN said the Piraeus Court has termed the strike illegal for the sixth time, which the union called unprecedented. The union members said after a meeting on Saturday night they are determined to continue to the final victory. They also said the strike was universal, with 100% of seamen on the ferry lines to Italy participating, and condemned what they called "the intransigence of shipowners, government, and the shipping ministry" for refusing to meet their demands.
