Environment & Energy Min: Targeted US attack a decisive turning point in Middle East developments

The targeted United States attack on Iran's underground nuclear facilities is a decisive turning point in developments in the Middle East, Environment & Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou told national broadcaster ERT1 on Sunday.
In this volatile state, Greece, an EU and NATO member, serves as a factor of stability with its strong government and updated Armed Forces with deterrent power, he added. "Greece has traditionally true, sincere relations with the Arab world and with Israel. We are shielded in terms of energy, we have a differentiated energy mix, and we can respond. Of course, we are part of a global economic and energy system and obviously any great global volatility will affect us," Papastavrou said.
Commenting on Libya's Foreign Ministry reaction on maritime blocs, the Environment & Energy minister said that "if you look into the tendering that Libya is doing for its own blocs [...], you will confirm that Libya's blocs 10, 14, and 15 in the tender are exactly in the median line, where the blocs we have proclaimed are 'touching'. In other words, in essence, Libya's national oil organization is refuting its own Foreign ministry, because it accepts the median line. And how could it possibly deny this, anyway? Because the median line is what the international law and international practice foresees in case of disagreement between two states. How else could it invite foreign investors, if it did not follow the median line?"
