Androulakis meets with Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce president

"Today we have a state captured in the hands of the Maximos Mansion clique, and this is also demonstrated by the OPEKEPE scandal, which is a top issue that could reach one billion euros," main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis noted during a meeting he had on Friday with the president of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce, Kyriakos Merelis, and members of its administration.
"It is a huge scandal, and our country cannot keep being discredited across Europe because some remain stuck in clientelist mentalities that only produce corruption," said Androulakis, continuing: "I want to tell you that I exposed this issue very early on-two or three years ago. At that time, I faced outright scorn from New Democracy".
Androulakis underlined the need for a change in the state’s mentality and underlined that "for the state’s mentality to change, there must be a government with political ethics, seriousness, credibility, and a programme not only for the powerful but for all Greeks."
