Androulakis meets with Hellenic Competition Commission president Sharpe

Main opposition PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis on Tuesday visited the Hellenic Competition Commission and discussed market inflation with its president, Irene Sharpe.
In his statements, Androulakis accused the government of "giving its blessing" to powerful oligopolies and cartels in the country which, he said, are making daily life difficult and driving up the cost of living.
PASOK-KINAL's leader requested updates on major cases concerning energy, private healthcare and insurance services, banks, and particularly ferry ticket prices, noting that thousands of families struggle to afford even short holidays on the islands due to transportation costs.
"We have a duty and a responsibility to stop unfair practices that have created enormous problems in the daily lives of Greek citizens. The market cannot operate freely for small and medium-sized enterprises while tolerating such practices for the powerful, making them even more dominant," Androulakis said.
