Volos: Cruise ship with over 5,000 passengers docked at the port

One of the largest and most modern cruise ships in the world, the Norwegian Viva, arrived on Tuesday at the port of Volos, carrying thousands of passengers.

The Bahamas-flagged Norwegian Viva, measuring 293 meters in length, arrived at 7 a.m. from Istanbul with over 5,000 people on board, including 3,543 tourists and 1,467 crew members.

At the port, dozens of tourist buses were waiting to take visitors to Pelion, the museums of Volos, and Meteora, while others flooded the city centre to experience everyday life in Volos.

The Norwegian Viva is scheduled to depart at 5 p.m. heading to Smyrna (Izmir).
