Androulakis: Our goal is regional development, the reduction of inequalities, hope and opportunity for all Greeks

PASOK-Movement for Change Regional Conference of the Peloponnese concluded late in the evening in Tripolis with the speech of party leader Nikos Androulakis
The main opposition leader referred to the escalating tension in the Middle East, sharply criticizing the government for its handling of foreign policy matters. He commented on Turkiye’s participation in the European defence architecture, describing it as a trajectory “ from defeat to defeat.”
"Today, there is no long-term strategy. Everything is governed by a short-term approach, with an eye on opinion polls - heavily focused on the next elections. The result is painful," he emphasised, adding: "Turkiye sees its indirect participation in European funds through its companies in European defence programs, and Greece celebrates. Shouldn’t we have prevented this negative development?"
Androulakis particularly highlighted the change in stance of Libyan military commander Haftar, whom, as he said, "the government had presented as an ally." He also pointed to the recent negative developments regarding the ownership status of the Monastery of Sinai, despite the Prime Minister's assurances to the contrary.
On the regional development, he identified the political stake for PASOK as "benefiting the many, not the few. Our goal is regional development, the reduction of inequalities, hope and opportunity for all Greeks - wherever they may live, from the smallest island to the smallest village. This is the PASOK of social justice and national dignity. The more vigorously we fight this battle, the closer we will come to victory against the policies of New Democracy - the policies of inequality and injustice."
